I Don't Want To Go

if I'm not home, if I'm not there to kiss you
just lay your precious body down and wear your pillow like a crown

if I'm not there to hold you, if I'm not there to tell you why
asleep so soft and delicate, whisper the sweetest epithet
remember, I don't want to go

if I can't seem to find you, if I can't be beside you now
just wrap your hair around the moon and know that I'll be coming soon

if I could be forgiven, inside the twinkle of an eye
I'd walk your terrors to the park, console your sad and sorry heart
remember, I don't want to go

...we will not be sleeping
called to heaven with a shout
the kings and queens are dreaming
i can only hope to tell you why
